The article describes the technique for applying a patch augmentation for the repair of massive rotator cuff tears through an all-arthroscopic, minimally invasive procedure. The technique may provide a treatment option for some patients previously unable to benefit from surgical repair.

Trenhaile’s practice at OrthoIllinois, 5875 E. Riverside Blvd., focuses on arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow and knee and treatment of sports- or activity-related injuries.
